The Louisville Irish Arts Foundation is sponsoring the Mulligan Stew Players in Oliver Goldsmith's "She Stoops to Conquer." The play will be performed one weekend only, March 25 & 26 at 7:30 pm and March 27 at 2:00 pm on Bellarmine Campus in the Cralle Theater.

"She Stoops to Conquer" is a bawdy tale of mistake identities, star-crossed lovers, perplexed parents and general mayhem. One of the most popular plays in the English language (written by an Irishman, of course).

"Hebrew soul" singer to perform at music festival this weekend


Gospel is a word that usually brings to mind Christian New Testament writings or associated music. On Sunday, March 14, Joshua Nelson, the “Prince of Kosher Gospel,” brings his vocal stylings—Jewish lyrics  set to the music of African slaves—to the 8th Annual Adolf & Sara van der Walde-Rosenbloum Music Festival.

Nelson’s performance, titled “Good for the Soul,” will be held at Congregation Adath Jeshurun, 2401 Woodbourne Ave. in the Highlands. The festival marks the 50th anniversary of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights.
